tv talk

American Dreams - I am so glad this show is back! I feel for every character and cry every week!

Clubhouse - so far so good. But I don't think I would really miss it too much if it disappears.

Survivor Vanautu - It's taking me a while to get into it. I will give it tonight and see what happens.

Apprentice - I am thoroughly enjoying this season. Raj is the favorite in our house right now. None of the girls are very impressive.

Celebrity Poker Showdown - I am very anxious for this to begin. We saw a preview for it last night, and there were interesting faces.

Listen Up - Impressed with Jason ALexander, could do without Malcolm Jamal Warner.

Grandma Van Houten

I am becoming more and more like her as the days go by. I have always rested my chin on my hand and pushed my nose with my finger. ALWAYS! And I catch myself and make myself stop because it really is not the most attractive of poses. Then the kicker last night was when I was going into my room to watch my tapes and I told Adam I was going to LOOK at Regis. That's what Grandma used to say about Johnny Carson. I went into my room and just sat on the bed and laughed. I don't have a lot of clear memories but from what I do it's not a bad thing to be like her.

trading spouses

Something tells me that little kid isn't going to get his Escalade! And why is it none of the moms work?

story

Think back almost 4 years ago when I broke my wrist. The day I had my cast put on we went to one of Adams baseball games at Sunland park. During the game an altercation occurs between a father on the other team and a friend of mine on our team (female). Yells turn into pushes and shoves turn into punches. There I am in the middle holding my friend Tammy back with my casted arm. Flash forward a year or two and we are now playing down at Tujunga Little League in the canyon, I make friends with a woman named Lori and meet her husband Craig. They look familiar but Adam has been playing ball for 6 years at this point so pretty much everyone I meet looks familiar. A few weeks later Susan points out that Craig is the father Tammy fought with. I bring this up to him and we laugh it off as a funny occurance, kind of a six degrees sort of thing. Craig didnt get along with everyone, he had a drug past and alot of people threw that up when he would umpire, claiming he was high, literally. Good friends of mine had a running in with Craig and wanted me to hold their grudge but I couldnt, he would always greet me "Hi sweetheart" and give me a hug and kiss on the cheek. Lori and I were always on the same page and would look at each other during board meetings and just know what we were each thinking. Last season I resigned from the board for personal reasons and some people held that against me and tried to make me feel bad for keeping my distance, but never Craig I received my same greeting, sometimes even louder in front of others.

Last night I attended Craigs funeral, coming home from Palmdale on his Harley he misjudged a turn on Angeles Crest and hit the wall.

I have learned from Craig that no matter what happens you have to let it go. Holding a grudge does no one any good. Everything needs to be taken as it is and then when its over its over. I guess I have always known this. But seeing everyone there really brought it home.

tv dinner

Wednesdays have What I Hate About You on Bravo! Very funny show about who is the most annoying person in the relationship!

I am rooting for Michael all the way. But I think Drew will run away with it.Neither Cowboy nor Diane has a chance against him becuase he really never "screwed" anybody (except Diane of course).

Colin and Christie could fall off the side of the Earth and I wouldn't miss them from AR. I would love to see Chip and Kim or the mommies run away with this. Next week is a two-hour finale so one more team is eliminated in the first hour then the second hour is a run to the finish. AR new season starts on October 2, just enough time to catch a breath in between.

Tomorrow of course is the important day SURVIVOR VANAUATU!!!!!! Absolutely can not wait for that to begin.

I missed the season opener of Everwood and Im okay with that. Taped LAX but then taped over it without watching it.

Loved Oprahs opening give away. Why is it I never seem to be at the right place at the right time?

Dodgers

Adam, Susan, Michael and I went to see the Dodgers play the Padres night before last. Although the Dodgers lost (a rare event only caused by our being there, I'm sure!), Adam and Michael had a great time because of the autographs they got. Among todays players they also were able to see and get autographs from Ron Cey, Maury Wills and the biggest Dodger of all time Fernando Valenzuela! Adam was so excited he was shaking and we had to purchase a case to put that ball in immediately, no one else was allowed to touch it. Luckily for us (ha!) Dodger stadium has a plethera of balls and cases for sale ($5 and $3 respectively) all over the park.

Everytime I try to blog at work, something comes up. This has been a week from hell. Thank God it was a short week. Parents screaming. Kids peeing (one kid twice in one day!), teachers needing and a clerk that whines! Aaaarrrggghhh!

tv vs school

School starts tomorrow for Adam, so we will be taping AR from now on and watching it on Wednesday evening. It comes on way too late to watch first hand, and then we can watch it together after work and home work.

High school! I can't start to believe it. I think I am more nervous about it then he is. But I guess if Steph can get married for gosh sakes Adam can start High School. Next thing you know Megan will want to be in Middle School!

Google times six

After I was posted by a stranger and Erika noticed that when you typed in a name of one of my posts into Google I was the first thing that popped up. So, I decided to Google Van Houten and see what comes up.

Well! Did you know that Van Houten sextuplets were born in Michigan around the same time as Jackson? They live in Holland Michigan and the whole town is getting together and helping them raise money for a new home.

Too much TV

On Monday, I taped this new show called Malibu the Complex (or something like that), that was two hours. Yesterday I taped BB and AR because I watched the Daddies and the Last Comic. SO now I have 4 hours of tv to watch but it cant happen tonight because I want to watch renovate my life with the first mommy family! I really need to get a life!

BTW the daddies was ok, I was ready to yell at those little kids or at the very least knock some life into their mother. She couldn't care less when her husband left or even when he came back! Then the crazy New York woman who has to take a cooking class to spend time with her family!

LCS - I loved Ant. Now mind you I have not watched either season 1 or 2 so all of the comics are new to me. The right people went home the first night. One performance was completely unappropriate for network television and he should go home!
