That's the bs line people feed you when you talk about the heat in California. Not anymore honey. It has been like Miami around here. I am waiting for the influx of mosquitos any day now. For the last 4-5 days we have had temperatures in the upper 90's with 80-90% humidity! And not even the decency to have a rip roarin thunderstorm. Yesterday the sky was all yellowish/greenish. I was looking for tornadoes on the horizon.

Some studio probably needed gloomy weather for a shoot and paid to have it this way. That's how most things happen out here!

We went to dinner tonight with Sue and Michael. Caitlyn only had eyes for Michael. While I was trying to feed her I had to not get in her way of looking at Michael. Then after dinner as we sat and chatted she spent all of her time on his lap.

Inch worm

I bought a new belt in January for my cruise. It is a Big girl's belt from the Big girl's store. I could barely get it into the first hole. Tonight I put it in the 4th hole. Trying not to jinx myself and hope that whatever comes off, stays off. Just smile and wish me luck.

Last night was our birthday dinner for Michael and Adam with our friends from baseball. We went to our favorite restaurant, Picanha a Brazilian Churrascaria (sp?). Where the side dishes are buffet style and gauchos bring skewers of meat to the tables non-stop. What could be better than all you can eat meat. From Beef to Chicken to Pork and Lamb, all made in different ways with different marinades. YUMMY!

This is Nicole with Caitlyn, they took to each other right away.

I took a "grandma" day today from work and spent the day with Cait. Our first order of business was a trip to the doctor's to look at the rash on her cheek. She has had an "irritation" rash from the baby bjorn but within the last couple of days she has scratched at it and it has become infected and resulted in Impetigo. A week long treatment of a topical cream should do the trick.

Then we went to Muir for lunch with some old friends. And a quick trip to mommy's office for a diaper change. A trip to the mall for a gift card and one to Grandmas office, then off to Hoover to pick up Adam and visit more old friends, and finally we are back at home. It has been a long day for both of us, but for some reason only one of us wants to take a nap. Wonder which one of us that is!
