Blu Frog Contest

BluFrog is holding a contest and I want you to win a cool prize. You can choose from one of the following prizes:

Happy Blu Year: You and a guest get to go to New York City on New Years Eve. You get three nights in a luxurious hotel, and a helicopter ride for two over the city. Any trip to NY would be grat for me, not too sure I would enjoy the helicopter ride though.

Blullapalooza: This trip centers around Lollapalooza, which is being held in Chicago August 7-9. You will get two tickets to the event and a two night stay in a luxurious hotel. I think I know a certain Boy who would love to win this trip.

BluStreak: It's a trip to Florida, where you get to participate in the Richard Petty Driving Experience. You will get two nights in a luxurious hotel, and two tickets for the driving experience. Hmmmmm……Do I get to hug Richard Petty?

ExtremeBlu: It is a trip to Aspen and the extreme part is that you will get two tickets to the Winter X Games. This trip gives you three nights in a luxurious hotel. I see that Boy’s name written on this one as well

BluGamer: To clarify this is not a trip, this is a Gaming Package. You get an XBox360 Elite package, Rock Band 2 bundle, Call of Duty: World at War Complete Package, and a wireless adapter. I worked at the E3 (gaming) conference this year and all of these names were on the tips of tongues.

All you need to do to enter is go to the BluFrog contest page and leave a comment, letting them know which prize you want to win, and why.

Or if you are of the Tweeting variety you can Tweet about the contest. Include which prize you want to win, being sure to use #bluword and http://bit.ly/UiiJy in your tweet.

Disney Dreams

The one and only time I have been to Disney World is back in 1977. My memories of that time are actually clearer than others from more recent years. It was the time of tickets, when you paid your entrance fee you were given a book of tickets for rides, different rides required a different letter ticket. The tickets were A through E, the E tickets were for the bigger, more exciting rides like Space Mountain and the like. I remember my brother and cousin with a fistful of E tickets running through the lines, conning people to let them go up to the front of the line telling them their parents were up ahead, over and over again, sometimes more than once passed the same people.

My siblings left Florida before my mom and me and so we went back to Disney World with other relatives and have recounted the story of my adventure on Space Mountain a few weeks ago. Think traumatized 9 year old scarred for life and now fearful of roller coasters.

The best part of the time my mom and I had without everyone else was that we got to go to Epcot Center. That was beyond my scope of imagination. I was amazed at the beauty and the many many different images I encountered throughout the day. Looking back now I can compare it to being in an Olympic village.

My dream when my kids were little was to have a family vacation with them and show the majesticness (is too a word!) of all that is Disneyworld. That never came to fruition and now I have the same dream for the grandkids.

Disney World now is so much bigger and better than I can even remember it being 30 years ago. There are multiple amazing parks, and attractions. Not only is there the Magic Kingdom of my childhood and the wonderment that is Epcot, but there is the Animal Kingdom, the Hollywood Studios, the Blizzard Beach and the Typhoon Lagoon. There is so much more for everyone to enjoy. Being a of the fish entity myself I think I would most enjoy Typhoon Lagoon.

No matter which one would be your preference you can get all of your Disney World Tickets in one easy click.

Manta Mania

!About a month ago I told you about the new Manta Roller Coaster at Sea World in Orlando, Florida. Member? I know I forget things all the time too, remind me to tell you about the calender thing I forgot while walking from my bedroom to the kitchen. But I digress.

IT"S OPEN!!!!!!!!

The Manta is open and it is a hit! I can't even imagine going on it myself (I am such a wuss), but I know family members who would do it in a heart beat. Although E, I don't know if mom would have gone for lying on her belly for this ride, that might have been a deal breaker for her.

I am dizzy just looking at that!

But you lucky readers, you have a chance to win a front of the line pass! You can be a VIP and just skip past everyone else in line and get your ride on!

All you have to do is go to the Manta website and follow the 6 simple steps. That's all it takes, easy peasy.

When you go, please come back and tell me what you thought, maybe even share a video of yourselves.

HAVE FUN

I Need a Vacation

What they say is true, the best things in life really are free.

What are free things you can do while on vacation in Kissimmee, FL?
I have many family members in Florida that I haven’t seen in ages so they would be my first stop. But then I would venture out to the beautiful parks and an old town area that are great for exploring and my favorite activity “people watching”. There are hiking trails and nature centers, so many places for young and old to take things at their own pace and explore to their hearts content. My favorite vacations as a kid always included water of some sort and Kissimmee is not low on lakefront or water fun.

What care-free things would you splurge on in Kissimmee?
You are within spitting distance of so many wonderful Florida attractions while staying in Kissimmee. You can get to Orlando for the House of Mouse or head to the Kennedy Space Center for a mix of fun and history and for those of us with a gambling bug there is the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino close by.

So now that you have seen all there is to do in Kissimmee you're ready for a care-free vacation yourself! Luckily, Kissimmee is giving away three (3) weekend getaways (3 days/2 nights) for two (2); and two (2) weeklong vacations for four (4). Drawings will be held on or around 4/1/09, 5/1/09 and 6/1/09. The best vacations are free!
